Did you know California’s Family Farmers produce more than four billion pounds of rice each year? The Sacramento Valley is the heart of the Golden State’s rice industry; 95% of the state’s rice crop is produced within 100 miles of Sacramento. 230 wildlife species use the ricelands, with an estimated $1 billion in habitat value.  California’s rice crops contribute more than $1.3 billion to the State’s economy. Food for thought.

At Paul Martin’s American Bistro we are proud to serve California rice.  El Segundo Chef Paul Muller comments, "Our customers have an increased interest in knowing where their food is coming from and how it is produced. It gives me a lot of confidence knowing that California rice meets and exceeds our guest expectations." Chef Paul is the featured Chef of the California Rice Commission this month. He has embraced buy local, believe sustainable for many years, this is not something new to him. He routinely transforms locally produced foods into high quality cuisine, our guests have come to not only expect, but love.
