California’s Grape & Gourmet Charity Event is the culmination of the golden state’s premier wine competition that features the largest tasting of California gold medal winning wines under one roof. Over 5,000 guests will sample the finest wines California has to offer and also taste delicacies from the best restaurants within the Sacramento Region. Each of the 700 wines featured at the event are California State Fair Award Winners. Over 200 California wineries will be represented along with 80 of the Sacramento Region’s award winning restaurants. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase award-winning wines with all wine sale proceeds benefiting the Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Program.
The California State Fair Wine Competition is the oldest, most prestigious wine competition in North America. The California State Fair is committed to promoting California wines by recognizing it’s top wines and wineries. The competition was established in 1855, and is open to all California bonded wineries selling retail and each year, thousands of California wines are entered into the competition for the chance to win one of many coveted awards from the State Fair’s panel of expert wine judges.
For over 150 years, the California State Fair has recognized the best wines of the state and the dedication of wineries and winemakers in the Golden State’s viticulture and enology industry.
