Yelp Reviews for El Segundo Paul Martin’s

Posted Date: August 4, 2009

Nice, upscale place with emphasis on locally grown, high quality ingredients. I saw Bloomsdale spinach on the side dishes, heirloom tomatoes, etc. I had their daily special for lunch–mesquite-grilled salmon with heirloom tomatoes and baked fingerling potatoes for 14.95. They also served complimentary thin slices of good sourdough. Service was prompt and polite. Convenient parking structure close-by with free parking with validation. Good place to explore further. Another place I tried based on great Yelp reviews, and I’m so glad I did. Beautiful modern decor, friendly service, and excellent, fresh, local food (which impressed me most. I try to eat organic when I can! It’s so expensive though.)

I ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi, which was excellent. My boyfriend ordered the salmon. He seemed impressed. But what reallllllly warranted the 5 stars was the Bing Cherry Creme Brulee we had for dessert. It was probably the best creme brulee I’ve ever had. The cherry pieces added just the right amount of flavor. Highly recommended. 5 Stars Jac P.

Last week I had to fly to a business meeting in ElSegundo and I had the pleasure of eating at a very hip restaurant on Rosecrans called Paul Martin’s. Paul Martin’s is an American Bistro that is located in between a few other restaurants. The staff was attentive and very knowledgeable about the food – they explained where the food was produced locally. The food….oh the food….incredible! We started our meal with Butcher Board appetizer. We couldn’t eat all of the incredible locally produced cheeses and meats, but sampled a bit of it all. Everything was full of flavor and combined with the glass of Fleming’s white wine, I was a happy foodie. I could have made that my meal, but chose to sample a plate of St’ Loius ribs and corn sacoutach. Again, I couldn’t finish my plate, but so wanted to. I was afraid I would fall asleep in the afternnon meeting. No worries, I’ll be back and next time I want to try the “Taste of Paul Martin’s” so I can sample all the local fresh ingredients they use to delight all senses. Thanks Paul Martin’s for an unforgetable lunch! My meeting went great that day too. 5 Stars Shelley S.

My husband and I have been here a few times. Most of the stuff we have gotten there has been good – especially the short ribs. There is a nice wine list. The service is good. Nice atmosphere. Good for a first date. 4 stars!

The evening of moving into our new house my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a night-out. The stretch of Rosecrans that the restaurant is located on features several trendy restaurants and we decided on Paul Martin’s for dinner. The parking area was in a series of covered, multilevel structures a short walk from the restaurant and they offered valet parking as well.

Once inside we found the restaurant to be full of atmosphere, large open spaces, high ceiling, lots of dark wood framework in a low-lit setting. We were led to our seats and after perusing the menu with some exotic twists on Americana treats we elected to go for the somewhat less-than-adventurous French Dip and Cheeseburger, though I did take a chance on the Absinthe Martini made with Verte Absinthe. 4 Stars! The food itself was very good, the burger cooked to order and the French Dip was tasty with an excellent au jus. The martini was a martini (no tales of Absinthe-fueled hallucinogenic madness) and tasted of licorice from the Absinthe and the wait staff was knowledgeable though not always the most attentive. Overall I can easily see coming back for another night out. 4 Stars! Summer N.
