Both Paul Martin’s American Bistro locations will be participating in the Dine Out for Farmsâ„¢, a nationwide event organized by American Farmland Trust. This worthwhile opportunity is designed to educate diners about the importance of farms and raise funds to save farmland.
The mantra of "Eat organic. Believe in sustainable. Buy local. Love fresh," says it all for the organic restaurants. "We are committed to buying fresh local produce that’s grown sustainably by local farmers that are out in the fields picking the stuff in the morning and bringing it to our backdoor," says Brian Bennett of Paul Martin’s American Bistro Roseville and El Segundo restaurants. "We value the relationships we have forged with farmers who have actually started growing things specifically for the Paul Martin’s kitchens, allowing us to create menu items based on what’s the freshest at any given time."
Throughout the week-long celebration, Paul Martin’s patrons will join the growing movement of restaurants and diners who support a sustainable future for American Farms.
"By participating in the October Dine Out for Farms event, restaurants and diners will show support for local farmers and raise awareness of the need to protect farmland from development," said Jane Kirchner, senior director of Marketing and Communications for American Farmland Trust. "With more than a million acres of farmland disappearing every year in America, it is more important than ever that diners make the farm-to-table connection."
